Lindsay at Suburban Turmoil and MommaK at Petroville put on a great “Perfect Post” contest every month – a chance to read some of the best stuff written each month- and to spread a little warm fuzziness.
I nominated my mother’s “A Love Affair with CUTCO” post on our Pinks & Blues Girls Blog. Yes, I am one of the bloggers on that blog, but I didn’t write the entry, my mom did!!
Anyway, I am nominating her because of her beautiful writing and the heartwarming story she shared.
My mom’s father (my grandfather) passed away of a heart attack at age 47, before my mom married my dad, and therefore before any of her children were able to meet him. My mom has always told us stories about her father – she was his only girl – and how he couldn’t wait to have grandkids.
Even though I feel as if I know my grandfather, simply from the wonderful stories my mom and my grandma have shared about him, I so wish that I could have actually met my grandfather. By all accounts, he was a stand-up, phenomenal man.
When reading my mom’s CUTCO post, I feel as if I am there with her, re-living those memories of birthdays and holidays with her mom, dad, brothers, cousins, aunts and uncles.
And that is just perfect.

I have seen this site–but I guess I did not realize it was owned by a friend. Since shopping is a must I prefer to do it from friends when possible–so now I go over there:)
